New York City, New York One World Trade Center is also known as One WTC, 1 WTC, 1 World Trade Center or formerly the Freedom Tower. This impressive high-rise by Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) Architects is the tallest building in the United States of America and was built on the former World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, NYC. While the building is 104 standard floors high, the tower has 94 actual stories. Before the grand building opening in November 2014, Permalight® photoluminescent exit path markings were installed inside the emergency staircases of One World Trade Center New York City in 2013/2014.
